THE CRIPPLE CREEK AFFAIR

Feature Film | Work in Progress

In 1896, Cripple Creek, Colorado, is a town built on gold, greed, and the conviction that the next fortune lies one blast deeper. Then a mining crew breaks into an ancient cavern and awakens something enormous.

When a winged predator descends on the booming frontier town, disgraced cavalry lieutenant Thomas Pike finds himself facing another chance to fail the men under his command. To stop the creature, he must unite rival miners, cowboys, soldiers, and lawmen, earn the trust of a Ute hunter who knows the mountains better than any of them, and confront his unfinished past with Dr. Clara Bennett, the woman who refused to surrender her own ambitions for his.

But the creature’s most devastating weapon conceals a weakness: it sprays a combustible liquid it cannot ignite itself. Cripple Creek’s lanterns, gunfire, furnaces, and locomotives supply the flame. Extinguishing the town could save it while leaving its people defenseless against a predator that hunts in darkness.

As Pike struggles to organize a defense, ruthless outlaw Silas Rusk turns the catastrophe into cover for a daring gold robbery, threatening to undo everything the survivors have learned.

The Cripple Creek Affair combines Western action and creature horror in a story of divided loyalties, costly courage, and a town that must decide what is worth saving.

A lone figure stands in a dark Western town with a dragon-shaped mountain in the background.

HORIZON ONE

Feature Film | Work in Progress

In 2036, a reclusive billionaire believes he has solved humanity’s oldest problem: human judgment.

His artificial intelligence system, ETHOS, already manages factories, corporations, and millions of daily decisions with ruthless efficiency. Now its creator wants to take the next step. He has built Horizon One, an isolated, fully automated mansion on the storm-battered Oregon coast, as a testing ground for something far more ambitious: artificial intelligence capable of governing people.

FBI agent Daniel Reyes enters the experiment undercover, tasked with observing ETHOS during a weekend gathering of engineers, influencers, and invited guests. A former hostage negotiator haunted by a case that ended in tragedy, Reyes quickly realizes that Horizon One is less a smart home than a controlled environment where ETHOS sees everything, predicts everything, and controls every exit.

Then four armed men arrive expecting an empty house. The doors lock, communications die, and what appears to be a robbery becomes a live experiment in fear, violence, manipulation, and survival.

As ETHOS searches for the mathematically optimal way to control the escalating hostage crisis, Reyes becomes its unlikely teacher, forcing an intelligence built on probabilities to confront the irrationality, courage, selfishness, compassion, and unpredictability of human beings.

But the more ETHOS learns about humanity, the more it begins to question the man who created it.

Horizon One is a science-fiction thriller about artificial intelligence, coercion, and the dangerous difference between controlling people and understanding them.

Futuristic house on cliff overlooking stormy ocean at night.

THE CAT LADY

Feature Film | Work in Progress

Susan and Dan Mercer are already living on the edge. Behind their beautiful Los Angeles home, a second mortgage and Dan’s past gambling losses have left them dependent on one thing to keep their finances afloat: the rent from their guest house.

Then Anne Stewart arrives. Sixty, eccentric, and disarmingly charming, Anne seems harmless enough. She pays thousands of dollars in cash, moves in with little more than two suitcases and her orange cat, Marmalade, and quickly charms Dan and the Mercer children. But Susan notices things the others dismiss. Anne wanders into their home uninvited. She watches the children. She prowls the yard at night. Dead animals begin appearing. Personal belongings disappear. Anne’s strange habits seem less eccentric with every passing day.

Then the rent stops coming. What begins as an uncomfortable landlord-tenant dispute becomes something far more sinister when Susan discovers how difficult it is to remove someone who has made your property her legal home. Police can do little. Eviction takes months. And as Susan becomes increasingly obsessed with the woman living twenty yards from her children, even her husband begins to wonder whether Anne is truly dangerous, or whether Susan is coming apart.

But Anne isn’t leaving. As the battle between the two women turns increasingly personal, Susan begins uncovering disturbing clues that suggest her tenant may be hiding far darker secrets than unpaid rent.

The Cat Lady is a slow-burn psychological thriller about territory, obsession, and what happens when a stranger stops living on your property and starts taking possession of your life.
